Bhendi aur Gosht ki Kadhi

Bhendi aur Gosht ki Kadhi........
The most staple, simple, tangy and delicious kadhi of bhindi and gosht which is quiet common in Hyderabadi household. My Grandmother makes the best kadhi which i miss soo much. I do make exact the same way like she does but still the secret lies in "Haath ka Swaad"
As lady finger is everyone favourite....combination with mutton and flavour of tangy tamrind is just amazing.
1) Bhendi/ lady finger 200gms trimmed and slit in between
2) Tomatoes 3 medium chopped
3) Meat with bones 250gms
4) Onion 2medium sliced
5) Ginger-Garlic paste 1tbsp
6) Red Chilli pdr 2tsp
7) Turmeric Pdr 1/4t tsp
8) Coriander pdr 1tsp
9) Green Chillies 4
10) Curry leaves few
11) Tamarind, lemon sized(put in hot water and extract the juice)
12) Coriander Leaves 1/2 bunch finely chopped
14) Rice powder or besan/gram flour 2 tbsp
15) Oil for cooking 3tbsp
16) Salt to taste
Heat 3tbsp of oil in a cooker and add onions and fry till translucent in colour. Add ginger-garlic paste and mutton pieces fry for a minute, later add the tomatoes and bhunofry till they get a little mashed. Add salt,red chilli pdr, turmeric pdr, coriander pdr and curry leaves. Bhunofy well. Add 1cup of water and pressure cook on mediun flame for 15 mins or till mutton gets tender. Open the lid and again bhunofry well. Add slit bhendi to the contents of the cooker together with Tamarind paste and bring to boil. Mix gram flour/ rice flour in 1/4 cup water and add this paste in boiling curry stirring well so that no lumps get formed. Adjust the thickness of kadhi and check the seasoning. Finally add coriander leaves and green chillies, let it cook on low flame for 6-8mins. Serve hot with white rice and Tala hua gosht!!
